Aggressive plans with 6 big launches in next 3 years
Commenting on the sales performance of HCIL this year, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India, said: “HCIL is witnessing one of its fastest growth years in sales, backed by strong performance of our latest models Honda City and WR-V. In our entire Asia Oceania business region, India is currently the largest market for Honda, and is expected to increase its importance in Honda’s global operations in the future. As a measure to demonstrate our commitment to this market, we have an aggressive plan to make 6 big launches in the next 3 years.”
Honda WR-V, sporty lifestyle vehicle, launched by Honda in March this year has received overwhelming customers’ response and has emerged as a strong player in the compact SUV segment. The response to fully loaded top variant – VX MT variant offering premium features like Sunroof, Advanced infotainment system is overwhelming accounting for 80% of WR-V sales. The company has sold more than 33,000 units of WR-V in India since its launch in March this year.
Expanding dealer network
HCIL has a network presence of 348 facilities across 234 cities in the country. The dealership network has doubled in the last four years and the company has established a strong presence in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
