The Tamil Nadu Small and Tiny Industries Association (TANSTIA) conducted the 24th edition of the State-level Industries Convention (STICON 2018) for MSEs at the Chennai Trade Centre on July 5. 

In his welcome address at the Convention, Mr. C. Babu, President, TANSTIA, briefed the audience about the TANSTIA and STICON convention conducted every year.

The Convention was organized in three sessions. In the inaugural session Mr. Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, Secretary to Government, MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, gave the keynote address. Ms. Apoorva, Principal Secretary / Chairperson and Managing Director, TANSIDCO, and Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce, presented their special address.

Dr. Rajendra Kumar also released the STICON 2018 Souvenir which contains all information about the industries and banks and their schemes. He appreciated the efforts made by the organisers for successfully conducting the State-level convention. 

In the Second Session – “Overview of MSME – Present and Way Forward” made by Mr. S. Sivagnanam, Additional Industrial Advisor, Mr. R.V. Shajeevana, Additional Director, EDII, Mr. S. Ashok, President, Cuddalore District SME Association, and Mr. K.V. Gopal of CII, participated in the panel discussion which was co-ordinated by Mr. V. Nithiyanantham, Vice President, TANSTIA.

In the Financial Session chaired by Ms. Chitra K. Alai, General Manager, SIDBI, officials from banks who participated in large numbers interacted with the SMEs on the financial facilities made available in the banks.
