Uber announced the launch of its operations in Rajkot, making it the 60th city where its services are available. Encouraged by a positive response from the people of Gujarat, Uber has steadily expanded its geographical presence in the State, which, including Rajkot, now encompasses eight cities: Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Mehsana, Nadiad and Vapi.
The launch of Rajkot is in line with Uber’s vision to offer affordable and reliable transportation to millions of riders, and livelihood opportunities for hundreds of thousands of driver-partners across 200 Indian cities over the next 12 months.
Uber will commence its operations in Rajkot with its popular offering, Uber Auto. Convenient pick-up options, hassle-free rides, and digital payment options have made Uber Auto a popular travel option. Uber Auto also provides its community of driver-partners improved earnings and optimum utilization of their time, resulting in financial independence. In the coming months, Uber plans to expand its services with Uber Intercity to address the varied mobility needs of the city.
