Hindustan Chamber of Commerce (HCC), one of the well-known chambers of commerce based out of Chennai, has reached a milestone on November 2, 2020 by entering the 75th Year of its glorious service to the trade, industry and commerce. To commemorate the Chamber’s 75th year anniversary, a Special Postal Cover has been brought out with the support of the Department of Posts, Government of India.

To mark the anniversary, the Chamber has organised a function on November 2 in which members of HCC as well as the senior members of the Department of Posts have participated. Mr. Sathyanarayan R. Dave, President, HCC, welcoming the gathering, wholeheartedly thanked Mr. B. Selvakumar, Chief Postmaster General, Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, for readily accepting the Chamber’s request as well as approving the Special Postal Cover design in a very short time.

Mr. N. Tarachand Dugar, Former President, HCC, and Founder Chairman, Dugar Group of Companies, in his special address, outlined the Chamber’s successful journey. He said Hindustan Chamber of Commerce was founded on November 2, 1945 by C.M. Kothari and Rai Bahadur Himchand K. Shah. Now with a Membership of about 1,000 members from various segments of Trade & Commerce, the Chamber is affiliated to the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The objective of the Chamber includes promotion of Trade, Commerce and Industry and the protection of their general interests. The Chamber serves as an effective channel of communication between the Central / State Governments and the Trade, Commerce, Industry and the Public. He also complimented Chamber’s young and dynamic President, Mr. Sathyanarayan Dave for showing lot of enthusiasm towards Chamber’s activities.

Mr. B. Selvakumar released the first Special Postal Cover to Mr. Dugar. In his special address, Mr. Selvakumar thanked HCC for inviting him with the cordial reception. His Department has been doing a yeoman service to every sector of trade and industry. He also presented My Stamp on behalf of Indian Posts to the senior members of HCC.
