The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organised a 4-day IndiaSkills 2021 Regional Competition – South in Visakhapatnam recently. It was inaugurated by Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Minister of Industries, Commerce, IT & Skill Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
More than 600 participants from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana have competed in more than fifty skills. A total of 100 participants from Tamil Nadu competed in 44 Skills. Of them, 13 students of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) won 5 Gold Medals and 6 Silver Medals in 11 Skills.
The medalists will be participating in the upcoming IndiaSkills 2021 National level competition and the winners will represent India in the WorldSkills to be held in Shanghai, China, in October 2022.
The valedictory address was delivered by Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Youth Advancement, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
