Phoenix Marketcity is a premium shopping mall and a strong supporter for social causes, hosted the most awaited ‘The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride – 2022’ on May 22, 2022.

After a gap of two years, this year edition witnessed over 600 bikers, looking dapper and elegant in their attires. The ride was flagged off from Phoenix Marketcity, Velachery, Chennai, by Mr. Sabari Nair, Centre Director of Phoenix Marketcity, along with representatives from Triumph at 7 am. The bikers headed towards Old Mahabalipuram Road, covered total distance of around 50 kms and culminated the ride at Four points Sheraton, Sholinganallur.

Visitors thronged the finishing point to catch a glimpse of the custom motorcycles, accessories, riding gear and much more at the stalls that was kept for display. Participants from various biking clubs based out of Chennai rode their classic and vintage motorcycles to make the event a grand success.

Commenting at the flag off, Mr. Sabari Nair said: “Being a lifestyle brand, we understand the importance of mental as-well-as physical well-being of a person to overcome difficulties and achieve what they want out of life.  We are very happy to have associated with Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride and lend our support for such a noble cause. We are delighted to see huge participation from the biker community in Chennai and glad to see more women participating in the event to create awareness about a health issue that most men ignore.”

According to the World Health Organization, prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide and there were about 1.41 million newly diagnosed cases of prostate cancer in 2020. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) in Chennai was started in the year 2014 to raise funds and create awareness for prostate cancer research and emphasize the importance of men’s mental health.
