Recently, Southern Travels has celebrated its 50 years of long and successful journey and a function in this regard has been organised at Hotel The Lalit, New Delhi, on September 14, 2022.
Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Tourism Minister, Government of India, who was the chief guest on the occasion, complimented the management of Southern Travels for outstanding contribution to the travel and tourism sector which is one of the major segments contributing more revenue for the country’s GDP.
Mr. Alapati Krishna Mohan, MD – Southern Travels, who has been the driving force of the company’s successful journey, is responsible for making strategies and decisions and implementing them for productive results in marketing, public relations and other critical affairs of the premier tourism company.
Mr. Mohan comes with a rich experience of over 31 years and has participated in several travel and tourism exhibitions and conferences in major cities in India and abroad. An expert in the field of hospitality industry, Mr. Mohan has tried and succeeded to significantly professionalize and modernize Southern Travels, to take it to greater heights. He is multilingual and can speak various languages like English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Southern Travels currently offers both intercity and inter-State travel-cum-accommodation facilities and maintains a very ethical and transparent approach. Most of the employees working in the group are well trained and groomed paying more attention to the customers requirement.
Mr. Mohan’s father, Alapati Venkateswara Rao, founded Southern Travels in 1970 and has a rich experience of more than 50 years in the hospitality sector. Under his leadership over the last 50 years, the Group has built three establishments – Hotel Southern, Southern Travels, and Southern Super Market.
Mr. A. Krishna Mohan has done his Master’s in Business Administration after getting bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University. He is an active member of All India Management Association (AIMA). After completing the MBA programme, he joined Southern Travels Pvt. Ltd., as a Director and then was elevated as the Managing Director of the company. Among some of the prestigious positions held by him in the business and social sectors are Governing Council Member of AIMA, Trustee of Andhra Association, New Delhi, and Board Member of Sri Balaji Temple, New Delhi of TTD – Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
